About Us

The Cabin Equestrian Centre is owned and managed by husband and wife team Morgan and Fiona Quennell. Fiona, a BHSAI UKCC Level 2 instructor and keen showjumper has over twenty-five years experience in the equestrian sphere including working with the Riding for the Disabled, running riding schools and placing horses and ponies with new owners.

Fiona has ridden for years on the showjumping circuit. In the past successfully up to 1.30m level and now continues showjumping at amateur level. Her time has been used over the past six years building up the Dog Cabin Grooming Salon and over the past three years the Cabin Equestrian Centre.

Morgan is a BSJA associate judge and keen amateur showjumper himself and assists in the day to day running of the Centre. Morgan and Fiona are fortunate to have attracted excellent instructors to work with them.

Amanda Kilgour, BHSAI registered instructor is also qualified in Equine First Aid and has an MSc in Equine Science.

Karen O'Donnell has an HND in Horse Management, is a registered first aider and holds a BHS Riding and Road Safety qualification. Karens work is mostly within the Dog Cabin Grooming Salon however she assists within the Equestrian Centre at busy times.

Melanie Hourston holds a BHSPT and stage 3 qualification, SVQ Level 2 and is qualified in Equine First Aid.

Jo Butler, BHSA and stage 4 Stable Management and has an HND in Equine Management.

Rachel Simpson holds a BHS stage II Riding, stage III qualification Management PTT and an HND in Horse Management.

All Cabin Equestrian instructors and staff hold Child Protection certificates and enhanced disclosures with CRB as standard.
